Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is characterized by it’s precise alignment and attention to detail; a safe sure way to health and well being. Time can be spent in the poses discovering correct alignment of the pose.

Beginner classes are suitable for people with no prior yoga experience. Beginner to Advanced classes suit all levels. Only our senior teachers teach these multi level classes.

Each Hatha Yoga class has a theme (standing poses, sitting poses, backbends or abdominal strengthening poses) between the inversions which are usually handstands and headstands at the beginning and shoulderstands before the relaxation period at the end. Each week the theme changes until all the themes are covered.

Gentle Stretch & Relax

The new Gentle Stretch & Relax class, taught by Jude on Wednesday evenings, will include gentle restorative poses, as well as breathing, and meditation practices.

The class was designed with the following folk of Auckland in mind:

  • Those who wish for a safe gentle introduction to yoga.
  • The experienced yoga students who just want a chill out class on Wednesday – the hump day of the working week.
  • The over 45 year old stiff, weak person who is beginning to understand the necessity of ensuring that their joints remain fully functioning,but feel uncomfortable in a more physical yoga class.
  • People who wish to still their “chattering monkey mind” mind, heal the pain, and reduce unhappiness

Pregnant or post natal students

We recommend you attend our Hatha Yoga classes. All Hatha Yoga classes are suitable for pregnant women after the end of the first trimester.

Please let the teacher know you are pregnant or have recently given birth and they will modify your practice accordingly.
