Hatha Flow Classes

In these classes the emphasis on the movement of the body being consciously linked to the breath. Flowing sequences of asana are practiced dynamically and then held for longer periods of time focusing the mind and in turn deepening the practice. Through the application of specific deep breathing techniques, while holding the postures, subtle but powerful internal movements are created that activate the deepest layers of the spinal musculature.

The main focus of attention is placed on the movement of the spine through the breath, the spine then becomes the core of all our movements.

The dual qualities of sthira and sukha become a personal reference and enquiry throughout the practice: to be conscious, alert, present, firm and stable and at the same time to be relaxed, comfortable and at ease without pain or agitation.

Classes are structured within the principles of vinyasakrama (logical sequencing), with a short pranayama exercise (breathing technique) after relaxation.

An enjoyable yoga practice of pleasure, attitude, thought and feeling, to enhance the functioning of the whole system, suitable for all levels of yoga experience.

All classes completed with a 10-15 minute relaxation period to relax the body and still the mind.
